MH6 Screw Compressor Helps Anneberg Enter New Market

Auxerre, France & Modena, Italy – May 2, 2011 When a company enters the transport business after creating a vehicle that features a changeable body so that it can be used for the transportation of, believe it or not, both pigs and people, you just know that company will develop a well-earned reputation for innovation. That’s definitely been the case for Anneberg Transport A/S, which is headquartered in Spjald, Denmark.

To meet the needs of these diverse markets, Anneberg has created an entire fleet of specially designed vehicles that match the transport equipment to the goods to be carried—not the other way around. This approach results in logistical solutions that are tailored specifically for the transport and delivery needs of the market and the customer, resulting in improved efficiency and a reduction in empty mileage costs.

It’s also why it’s not surprising that in 2009 Anneberg Transport announced a new venture: the transportation of fly ash from Sweden to Norway. Fly ash—a very fine, powdery material with the consistency of talcum powder—is a by-product of coal burning. When introduced to water, fly ash will produce a cement-like compound, making it useful in cement and concrete production applications.

The compact, lightweight design of the new MH6 allows trucks to increase profits by adding more payload.

To optimize the performance of its trucks that are transporting the fly ash, Anneberg knew it would have to reduce the trucks’ weight. To do that, they turned to the new MH6 Screw Compressor system—the result of a partnership between Mouvex® (Auxerre, France) and Hydrocar (Modena, Italy). The MH6 Screw Compressor is the world’s first combination screw compressor/power takeoff (PTO) unit that is compatible with a truck’s gearbox, making it ideal for dry-bulk transport applications. The MH6 was recently certified for use on Mercedes-Benz trucks, and has been designed to offer many benefits to the end-user in dry-bulk transport applications, while at the same time offering a 70% weight reduction when compared to existing equipment.

“The drivers say they work well with the fly ash; they have been on the road for four months without any problems,” said Anneberg. “The drivers like that they don’t have to think about it; they press the button and it works. I also love the simple way it’s mounted. In Scandinavia, we use three-axle short tractors, so it’s normally hard to find space under the trucks for additional equipment. The MH6 works because you don’t need that much space.”

Anneberg is also excited about the future opportunities that the MH6 can offer. For more than 20 years, Anneberg Transport has been using Mouvex Enterprise Series Rotary Vane Compressors on its trucks that are used in chemical gases and bitumen applications. He’s looking forward to the day when the MH6 can also be employed in those operations.

“We are looking at potentially using the MH6 on our chemical trucks, as well,” he said. “Maybe in the future, when you order a truck, you can get it directly mounted on the gearbox, which will make it cheaper. I’m looking forward to seeing that one day.”
