Mouvex^® and Hydrocar^®, along with distributor Humblet Hydraulics of Kontich, Belgium, are extremely proud to announce that the MH6, the world’s first combination screw compressor/power takeoff (PTO) unit for the dry-bulk transport market, has been named the recipient of Trailer Award 2011: Best Accessory. The recognition came at Trailer 2011, the international trade fair for trailers and equipment, which was held from Nov. 25-29 at the Kortrijk Xpo in Kortrijk, Belgium.

The Trailer Awards were designed to encourage innovation in the development and use of equipment in road-hauling operations. The Best Accessory Award goes to the company that produces innovative truck equipment that optimizes costs and benefits, can be used in a variety of applications, maximizes safety and helps reduce the overall weight of the trailer. An international jury composed of professional journalists and potential users evaluated the entrants and determined that the MH6 best met the criteria for the award.

The MH6 is the culmination of four years of cooperative effort between Mouvex and Hydrocar. It has been designed to be compatible with a truck’s gearbox, while at the same time offering a 70% weight reduction when compared to traditional screw compressors. The MH6 combines Hydrocar’s innovative PTO device and the Mouvex screw compressor principle, resulting in a solution for dry-bulk fleets that is lighter and less expensive than traditional equipment. Thanks to the lighter overall weight of the system, the MH6 is able to provide fleets with increased turnover per truck per year that equates to improved revenues, while also meeting the requirements of the European Union’s upcoming Euro 6 legislation, which goes into full effect in 2014 and will require vehicles to be lighter and use less fuel.
